Primary 5 had lots of fun launching their water bottle rockets on Friday. They worked in pairs to design the rocket and then half filled the bottle with water before pumping air in.
The energy to force the water out is stored as air pressure inside the bottle. You supply the energy as you pump air into the bottle. The air pressure inside builds up and pushes on the water. This energy forces the rocket high up into the air. Pretty cool!
